How We Handle Your Data
We know you're uploading sensitive financial documents. Here is exactly what happens, step by step.
You upload a PDF
Your file is sent over HTTPS to our server. It is held in RAM only — it is never written to disk.
Text extraction
If the PDF has a text layer, we read it directly. If it is scanned, we send it to our advanced AI for OCR text extraction. Our AI providers are contractually prohibited from using your data to train models.
AI extraction
The statement text is sent to our advanced AI model with a precise structured prompt. Our AI providers are prohibited from using your data to train generative models.
Reconciliation & categorization
We categorize each line item and verify the numbers add up — transactions against the closing balance for statements, or line items against the total for invoices and receipts. Any mismatch is flagged prominently.
Response to you
We return the structured, categorized data, the reconciliation result, and your CSV/QBO files to your browser.
We save your extracted data — encrypted
If you are signed in, the extracted data (transactions, categories and document metadata) is saved to your account, encrypted at rest, so you can re-download and review it later. Anonymous free-trial conversions are not saved at all.
Your original PDF is released
As soon as the response is sent, the request context — including your original PDF — is discarded from memory. The source file is never written to disk. You can delete your saved data anytime from your dashboard or billing page.
